Lost Password? As an RN, nutritionist and natural therapist, I have been closely involved in the treatment of hemorrhoids and other stomach and colon-related complaints for over 25 years.
During that time I have identified one major cause of hemorrhoids which is never discussed – Procrastination. Whether this stems from embarrassment, fear or some kind of faith that hemorrhoids will somehow miraculously cure themselves, I’m mot sure. Regardless of the wherefore, I know that most hemorrhoid sufferers wait way too long before taking action to treat their problem. It no longer surprises me when I hear someone say they have been suffering for 20 or even 30 years.
This is absolutely unnecessary.
What keeps people suffering in silence with hemorrhoids for so long? 1. Embarrassment I understand and empathize with this.
It’s true that this is not a dignified complaint. But there is very little that doctors and other health care professionals have not seen or heard – you will not be the first (or the last) person to walk into their office and tell them you need to cure hemorrhoids. 2. Fear Because hemorrhoid symptoms often include rectal bleeding and pain, there is often the fear that something more sinister, such as colon cancer, could be the culprit.
